Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has shot down discussions of him retiring from football, saying he has a lot more football in him to carry on.
The 34-year-old former Liberty Professionals striker represented Ghana at AFCON 2019 and saw little of football, after impressive start at NorthEast United, he sustained a season ending injury and many believes he should hang his boots for good
But The Ghana leading top scorer is not ready to call it a quit to his incredible 17years footballing career and says he is still motivated to continue playing football and won’t give ears to people who say he should retire.
In an interview with TV3 Ghana, former Sunderland Star was confident and thinks he can still play
“For me, what will make somebody quit football, is the deal dedication but it is still there”, Asamoah said
“so I feel I have a lot to prove and on the field; when I see certain things, I feel like I can still do it.
“A lot of people have tried but I always say to myself I will call it a day on my own terms: Nobody can retire me.”
Gyan is currently without a club and reports say he is likely to join Kumasi Asante Kotoko when football resumes.
