NSA boss Professor Peter Twumasi has quashed reports speculating in the media landscape that ¢60,000 has been placed on the various stadia in case any club wants to hire any of them
Mr Twumasi after rubbishing the reports set the record straight
"We have not released any statement regarding the amount to be charged if a club wants to hire the any of the stadia, so disregard the reports” Twumasi told Fox fm
"With the ¢60,000 they made reference to the already determined charges. We help the clubs and cannot charge them same as for commercial purposes. Since this is also a Public Service Institution, we give them one-third of the actual cost charged as compared to charges of private stadia users. It is sports related but not connected with any of our federations like the GFA or the Ghana Athletics Association. It has been already published since last year, which is ¢60,000 for the stadium.
“This amount has been a reference point for us but the NSA has not determined any figure now. The ¢60,000 is only applied to non-sporting activities and football matches which are not under the GFA activities but rather events of private/commercial institutions.”
Twumasi went on to discuss the needed things that needs to be adhered to should football in the country resumes
"It will be necessary to play the games behind closed doors. The National Sports Authority (NSA) would be tasked on maintenance of the stadia, electricity, water as well as COVID-19 protocols. These include Veronica buckets, tissues, soaps, sanitizers and fumigation of the stadia before next matches can be played. It will increase the cost of the NSA similar to that of the clubs."
